My former coworker; Sergeant C C Uzoukwu used to tell us that “there’s no discrimination against excellence”. This statement is so true in every sense except in the recent case of the deliberate show of power by the highly corrupt and perfidious sole called Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to ridicule the excellence of the most performing governor in Nigeria; Akinwumi Ambode.

In a recent political/economic history of Nigeria especially, looking at the shameful performances of some current governors like Ekiti State; Ayodele Fayose, his counterparts in Ondo State; Akeredolu Oluwarotimi, Osun State; Rauf Aregbesola and Kogi State; Yahaya Bello. The environmental, political, social/economic devastations in the aftermath of governors Adams Oshiohole and Olusegun Mimiko, one have every reason to celebrate the outstanding and unmatched achievements of Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State.

Ambode apart from beaten the record set by his predecessor, he has demonstrated that he has leadership competency, foresight and a great understanding of what governance should be like in modern economic/political history. With Ambode sterling and conspicuous achievements in Lagos State, only an insane man, villain, treacherous, vindictive and enemy of progress will stand on his way for a second term.

Rauf Aregbesola failed in Osun State, Adams Oshiohole failed in Edo State, Yahaya Bello failed in Kogi State yet, Tinubu liked, cherish and rooting for them everywhere. But on the flip, Ambode did excellently well in Lagos State but, Tinubu sees him as an enemy that must be crushed.

To me, if there’s anything to learn from this ongoing crisis surrounding Ambode quest for a second term, in Lagos, you’ll see that it exposed the greed, perfidious and the vindictive character of one man – Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It is my opinion that one man should not hold Lagos State hostage or try to punish a sitting governor because he blocked all loopholes that have allowed embezzlement of public funds and annexation of public properties in the past. Therefore, it is the responsibility of Lagosians to stand up for what is right, civilize and what is good for the future of Lagos. What is right here, is standing up for Governor Akinwumi Ambode against the interest of one man. Those that came before Tinubu didn’t hold Tinubu to ransom neither do they hold Lagos State hostage.

Lagos stand up for truth and what is right. Tinubu is an albatross who celebrates failures as far as his own personal interests are protected. You can see that he owned almost half of Lagos State. Do the fact check, Tinubu is richer than Dangote not because, he inherited wealths or manufacture cement, sugar, indomie, etc but, because he looted Lagos State and installed thieves all around Nigeria and regularly collected his own share of stolen wealth and convert public properties to personal ownership.
